Pre-configured hardware RAID solutions feature 2 paired lightning fast SATA (Type I/II) drives with up to 3.0TB each of storage capacity and a high speed Custom Oxford 946 eSATA, FW400(1394A), FW800(1394B), and Ox3100 USB 3.0 Integrated Chipset featuring FireWire 800/400, USB 3.0/2.0, and eSATA ports to deliver some of the fastest single drive transfer rates possible...up to 500MB per second! Enclosure only kits are also available for "add your own hard drive" flexibility and economy. With its multiple interface connections, Guardian MAXimus makes adding vault-like mirrored data storage performance to Macintosh and Windows computers Plug and Play easy.

MAXimum Real Time Redundancy

Should you experience a hard drive failure, the ever vigilant Guardian MAXimus automatically and seamlessly continues data read/write functions with the remaining drive. And with the convenient front panel drive status LEDs, you’ll know at a glance which drive is being accessed and if you need to take any action.

What is a Mirrored RAID-1?

RAID stands for Redundant Array of Independent Disks and refers to multiple hard drives contained in a single enclosure for the purpose of sharing or replicating data among the drives. RAID-1 is usually implemented as mirroring. This means data is duplicated on two different drives using either a hardware RAID controller (which Guardian MAXimus uses) or software (generally via the operating system). If either drive fails, the other continues to function as a single drive until the failed drive is replaced. The main benefits of a RAID-1 redundant solution are: increased data integrity, storage capacity, reliability, throughput speed, and fault tolerance.
